 Prayers for the Novena
Holy Spirit, come, confirm us
In the truth that Christ makes known;
We have faith and understanding
Through your helping gifts alone.
Holy Spirit, come, console us,
Come as Advocate to plead,
Loving Spirit from the Father,
Grant in Christ the help we need.
Holy Spirit, come, renew us,
Come yourself to make us live;
Holy through your loving presence,
Holy through the gifts you give.
Holy Spirit, come, possess us,
You the Love of Three in One,
Holy Spirit of the Father,
Holy Spirit of the Son.
Come Holy Spirit,
warm the hearts of all
with the fire of your love.
V. Send forth your spirit and we
will be reborn.
R. And you will renew the face of
the earth.
We beg you Lord to send the Holy
Spirit upon us so that inspired and
encouraged by Him we
may comply with the duties that
are ours, carry our crosses with
patience and grow daily in
Christian perfection. Grant us,
through the same Spirit, the
intentions of this Novena,
or what is most conducive to
our salvation and the salvation
of all. Amen |
Act of Consecration
Divine Spirit of light and
love,
I consecrate my mind and heart
and will to You for time and for
eternity. May my mind be open
to Your divine inspirations and
to the teachings of the Church,
whose infallible guide You are.
May my heart be filled with love
of God and of my neighbor and
my will conformed to the will
of God. May my whole life be a
faithful imitation of the life and
virtues of Christ our Lord to
Whom, with the Father and You,
be honor and glory forever. Amen.
Act of
Reparation
O Holy Spirit, source of mercy,
truth and holiness, it saddens
me to think that there are many
who oppose Your inspirations
and blind themselves to the
known truth. Accept this act of
homage in reparation for those
offenses. I, too, have many times
offended You by my sins. I now
implore Your mercy and
forgiveness; and I promise with
the help of Your Grace never to
offend You again. You, Who are
so little known and loved, grant
that through the merits of Jesus
our Redeemer, we may come to
know You more and more and
realize, more fully, Your presence,
Your power and Your love. Amen
Prayer
Almighty and eternal God, You
have regenerated us by water and
the Holy Spirit, and have given us
forgiveness of all our sins, send
forth from heaven upon us Your
sevenfold Spirit: the Spirit of Wisdom
and Understanding, the Spirit of
Counsel and Fortitude, the Spirit of
Knowledge and Piety, the Spirit of
Fear of the Lord. Amen.
We have offered these prayers to You,
eternal Spirit, loving You and praising
You in Your beauty and Your majesty,
in Your light and Your strength. We
pray, Divine Spirit, that You will visit
us with Your inspirations and guide
us by Your counsel that one day we
may dwell with You forever in the
kingdom of heaven. Amen. |
