PARTICIPATION OF MINUTO DE DIOS EN THE EJE CAFETERO

1. DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Advise for the reconstruction given by Dr. Alfonso Cleves Lambardi, member of the Board of Directors – Director of the Minuto de Dios Corporation and Ex-official of the International Development Bank in Washington.

2. CENSUS

Assistance to identify the possible beneficiaries for housing in the Calarca Municipality.

3. FINDINGS REGARDING THE NEW EXISTING HOUSING

Evaluation of housing already constructed and ready to be given away with the object of determining the feasibility of assigning them to victim families.

4. PLAN FOR RECONSTRUCTION THROUGH THE
“CONSTRUCTION OF COMMUNITIES” PLAN.

For Minuto de Dios since it started, it has been clear that it
was to construct housing for minority classes, but there is more to it then erecting four walls and placing a roof over
them.  For this reason it has always considered the social
components as a fundamental base that will guarantee the
proper cohesion and organization that is required for a
housing project.

The above requires community input to achieve a lawful and responsible result.

That is, these advisors guarantee that the community will own up to the project and will have the necessary mechanisms sufficiently in place to achieve easy credit and be able to access government subsidies.

We also offer training so that the community has the proper tools that are necessary to develop an appropriate
development and to better control the quality of the work.

All of the above can be started immediately and there are no obstacles to initiate the construction process within 30 days, if we can count on the necessary funding.

Regarding the technology that will be used to construct the Eje Cafetero and even though Minuto de Dios has experience with the prefabricated system Contech,  structural rubblework, we predict that all housing will be constructed with this system.   This is due to the acceptance the community has had of the construction of 110 houses in the Urbanization of Luis Carlos Galan, through the Corporation of Minuto de Dios.

5. GENERATION OF EMPLOYMENT

Additionally, Minuto de Dios will work to implement employment generation through the opening of a support office for training and credit in the micromanagement sector.

6. COLLECTION CENTER

Up to now Minuto De Dios has sent from Bogota and distributed from its Collection Center in Mary Immaculate College in Armenia, more that 120 tons of food, blankets, medicines, tents for people who have previously be verified to need them.  We will continue to do this until we feel that the victims need this type of help.
